"Awhile ago, I got a copy of Bill Madison's latest album, 'Rogues' and, with my busy schedule and holidays and all, it just sat there waiting to be opened. Isn't it that way with a lot of things? We let them sit and, then, one day we get to them. Well, today was my day to open the CD and sit and listen to Bill's new production. And, I did. I must tell you that I like this album. I like its production. I like the songs and, I like Bill's approach to the Americana genre. Bill, of course, has had a long career singing and producing folk music and in 'Rogues,' he brings his folk influence to an expanding style of music that has today been popularized by the likes of Mumford and Sons and others. The instrumentation in 'Rogues' is very good. It is a solidly produced CD. And, of course in it there is Bill bringing voice and lyrics to tales of the real world, of people just trying to deal with and face the realities of life and hard times. Add 'Rogues' to your music collection. It is vintage Bill Madison with songs and stories as only he can tell them.... "

    Dusty Gus review of Rogues
A few weeks back we got a CD in the mail from our old friend Bill Madison. It took a while to get around to taking a listen (ya know life gets crazy sometimes). His CD is called “Rogues” and has a picture of Bill’s dad on the cover. Not sure of the genealogy of his family and the connection to rogues but maybe that’s best left to the imagination. Bill enlisted the help of songwriters Scott Roby, John Cluley, Jeffrey Reid, Suzie Litton Wood, and Nancy Madison in his song selection but most of the work is done by Bill in this homegrown collection of songs. Bill has that special ability to paint a picture with his songs and put you somewhere else. I pictured him sitting on a beach next to a campfire with a group of friends singing and playing with the waves and the stars. Isn’t that where the music is always the best anyway. Bill Madison is more than a singer/songwriter, he’s a storyteller in the finest tradition. We suggest you look up his music and take a listen. Nothing commercial and pre-packaged here, just good stuff for you to enjoy.
